Spider animation by Bryan Beatty Other spider animations are available on the WWW at: http://www.oas.omron.com/bryan/anims.html The page also provides .FLI players for DOS and Windows. This animation was generated using POV-Ray, an excellent freeware raytracing program available via ftp from ftp.povray.org, or on the WWW from http://www.povray.org. I generated this animation procedurally, using custom animation software I wrote myself. To create a new spider, I just write a short text file which specifies such parameters as body size, leg length and thickness, stride length, etc., and tell it "Walk!" The program then animates the spider, automatically making all the calculations for placing the body and legs as it moves along. For more detailed information on how this animation was produced, there is a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page at: http://www.oas.omron.com/bryan/faq.html I hope you enjoy the animation.
